Get a 1080p 60hz one. There is no way that consoles push 144fps.

Current Build: Core i7 4790k @ 4.6, Asus Maximus VII Hero, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400mhz 8gb (2x4gb), GTX 980ti, NZXT Kraken X61, Fractal Define R5  EVGA Supernova B2 850w, Some 300gb hard drive.

well, its a console, so depending on which gen then you either have only 60 fps at 1080p or 30 at 720p so go for something that has 1ms response time and good colors

... competitive... console.. monitor?

thats 3 words you dont hear together often..

how about just a low input latency TV, like what those consoles were intended to be plugged into in the first place.

It's not like I'm playing xbox mine craft I'll be playing fps games and what I meant was I need a computer monitor for competitive but only 60hz

but on console the experience literally wont be any different once you get a regular ol' HDTV with a decent input latency.

there is no thing as "a monitor for competitive" or "gaming monitors" they are marketing terms to hide the fact they may be amazing in one area (like 144hz) but may be absolute shit in other areas (like colors on "buisiness" monitors)

No such thing as a competitive monitor? Go play csgo on a 30hz 8+ ms response time monitor against 9 other people on 144hz g-sync 1ms responses time monitors.Have fun.

But your console can't even play 144hz...

I was talking to him cause I image he doesn't play competitive on console. Also my console doesn't play at 144hz either does anyone else's.

well, i have two buisiness grade monitors that have very low input latency (i dont know the spec off the top of my head, but its faster than my 5ms dell ultrasharp) at 60Hz.

in the same way these arent buisiness monitors, they're just advertised as buisiness because they have a fancy stand, and they have the color depth of a piece of concrete.

its not about the "badge" they put on the front of the box, its about the specs on the back of the box.

in fact, my sub-€100 buisiness monitor thats now past its 4th year would fit in perfectly with other 60Hz "gaming" branded monitors of today.
