Overclocking CPU

I would like to overclock my Amd 8320E but I am not sure if is is really worth it. My cpu is water cooled and stock temps are about 40 degrees Celsius. I have pretty good performance and my brother says he does not want to overclock it because it will reduce the lifetime by a lot and it will be overclocked when we don't need it. I would like to hear more opinions on this.

If you keep it well cooled then it won't really hurt the lifespan. AMD can run a little bit hotter so they have a bit more tolerance when it comes to overclocking. I had a FX6300 @ 4.6GHz and it was stable.

Id be more worried about the mobo then about the cpu.

Bumping the processor up to about 8350 speeds should be easy and safe, but i wouldnt try extreme overclocks on that mobo.

You can get a reasonable OC with that motherboard but its better to have that latest chipset.
