Right now, ive been prepping my case for custom watercooling but as I begin looking at the costs i feel like they outweigh the gains.

My watercooling loop would cost around $390 $360 just to cool my CPU.

for a little more i could grab a second 7970 and a Seidon 240M.

im currently gaming at 2560x1440 and i do notice lag in some games to the post where i have filtering off.

Is there a better way to spend my dough?

**This is the cheapest loop i would like to run**

I would go AIO cooler and 2nd 7970.

I have a Seidon 240M, and it serves me quite well.

I would say about 10 inches.

Second 7970

so i shouldnt wait for 9xxx? ;)

I would say about 10 inches.

that might be too short...

just use less premium stuff in your build, you should be fine

but...but....but....

i actually tried to use cheaper stuff. the only thing that is marginally more expensive is the rad which is 80mm thick

Use 7/16 tubing and 1/2 barbs instead of compressions, you can go as far as put worm drives on too if you're worried but they're not going to move once.

You can pick up a EK, Alphacool, or XSPC rad on eBay for a bit cheaper, even cheaper if it's used. No harm in buying a 2nd hand rad as long as there aren't any leaks, bent fins, and the seller is somewhat reputable.

If all you're doing is a CPU loop, you don't really need 10 feet especially if you're doing pump/res combo.

You can save another 50$ by avoiding the res/pump combo and buying a standalone D5 off Amazon for 90$ and building a T-line res instead. 8 feet of tubing should be plenty.

Hellfire PC on eBay is a pretty decent shop.

Not much point doing a custom loop and only using one 240mm rad really, just get a AIO and another 7970 :)

you should i pick up a nice air cooler instead? i dont think i can fit an AIO do to tubing constraints.

OFF TO eBay :D

i was using 10 just to be on the safe side :P

i cant fit a res+pump  :( only a bay combo

Just use a pump and T line then (assuming your rad isn't top mount then a T line might be hard.)

I would probably go with high end air in your situation.

Surely go for a second 7970, Seidon 240M will work just fine wit a much lower price.

Explain what you mean by cooling constraints?

But yeah, something like a D14 will perform between a 120mm AIO and a 240mm AIO so that will work fine :)

Ive been modding my case and the only spot i can fit a rad is in the HDD cage (which has been removed)

Thats why i can fit an 80mm rad. the tubing on the AIO's wont reach all the way from my CPU to my mounting spot.

Just use a pump and T line then (assuming your rad isn't top mount then a T line might be hard.)

I would probably go with high end air in your situation.

i could probably fit a res at the top of my case. and a pump in the drive bays.

i edited the cart and it brought the price to $330

Surely go for a second 7970, Seidon 240M will work just fine wit a much lower price.

ill look into other AIO's for tubing mods.

You know what I mean when I say T-line res right? It takes very little space at the tradeoff of being a little more difficult to work with.

If you felt like it, you could even mod your case to run the T-line as a fill port on the top of the case.

yes i just got to thinking of other potential res spots.

then i realized i could fit a large res at the top.

It looks like it will work, but 1 80mm rad is no glory and ann AIO would perform better.
