I've heard many horror stories with PSU's. There's no way you can say for sure it won't burn his house down or fry his entire computer. Again, I'm not the most knowledgeable... Doing my best to learn, but there's no way I would chance that after all these tech savvy folks on this forum told me all that.

That made me laugh.

Like I said, I would have never considered Corsair's CX line for a build like this, and I recommend that OP should change it, but since he has no money that PSU will be fine for now.

I wouldn't feel bad at all. People that know what they are doing make mistakes all the time and even fry their systems.

Doing my best to learn, but there's no way I would chance that after all these tech savvy folks on this forum told me all that. Especially since he's said again and again that he doesn't have much money and can't afford to upgrade much more. Losing all those parts would be disastrous.

That's literally every product ever made.  By using electricity you run the risk of burning your house down.

The PSU is fine.  His system is like 400W max, well in the safe zone of a 750W PSU

Intel 4670K /w TT water 2.0 performer, GTX 1070FE, Gigabyte Z87X-DH3, Corsair HX750, 16GB Mushkin 1333mhz, Fractal R4 Windowed, Varmilo mint TKL, Logitech m310, HP Pavilion 23bw, Logitech 2.1 Speakers

Would a 650W really power his system? It's similar to my build and I think I need at least 700 by calculators I've looked at.

The PSU will be fine, when you CAN upgrade go for a model that is known for it's reliability. One thing to keep in mind: you get what you pay for.

IMO Seasonic or XFX have very reliable units.

Why? Are you suggesting they don't know what they are talking about?

titan X draws about 300W after OC, his cpu draws about 65W~ and the rest of the system about 100~150W

should be fine tbh , 650W is leaving a ton of headroom to account for psu degredation over time and all

Oh okay cool. My bad. I guess mine is probably a bit of overkill then.

Yes, suggesting that a specific line of PSU will burn your house down is laughable.

a reliable 650W psu will be able to power your system too

infact, it can power almost all single gpu and cpu system

ALMOST all because monsters like the 9590 and 295x2 exist >.>

I don't really think that's what anybody was saying. They were saying it was a cheaper, less reliable unit, and that they personally wouldn't want to take the chance with such expensive components...

Very good to know, thank you. At one point I felt like I should even upgrade it because I went to a GTX 980 Ti from a GTX 770 not long ago.

And like I said, I would not have considered the CX line myself. But OP has, I also told him he should upgrade when he can. Using it for now is perfectly fine. There are defective units within all brands and I've heard people curse reliable brands because they got unlucky.

I myself have had a PSU that is said to be reliable die and kill a few components, I'm not going around saying it's a crap PSU, I know I just got bad luck with that PSU, that's all.

That's like 1/17th the price of your system. It should be worth it for some reliability and peace of mind. I'd probably use it until I could afford to upgrade, but I'd be pretty worried lol

well you can save up for it

or you can get a slightly lower tier psu like this one,

but i recommend getting that evga if you can afford it comfortably

because your system is a high end one, i wouldnt skimp on psu

It's fine if you can't upgrade now, like others have mentioned, try to get a recommended PSU within your budget. It'll be fine for a while. Just put some money aside and by a better PSU when you're ready.

Everything else is fine, I would have gotten a K CPU and another SSD but it's not an obligation.
