True dat....true dat.

Though after about 300+ hours into the game, it's lost it's initial challenge. However, that ****** bridge in Anor Londo with the ****** archers still gets me.

Even with the Slumbering Ring and Ring of Fog.

The new technique made by Epic Games is actually really good, if you download the Boy with Kite demo (4GB HDD size and a powerful PC required), you can see their motion blur is not based on camera movement like 99% of current motion blur, it makes animation smoother as it is based on the physical model instead of just blending/blurring two frames together.

 I could barely get 27FPS with a i7 6700K + R9 290 though.

My issue with motion blur is it breaks immersion for me and just looks fake IMO. Motion blur should be natural - a result of the speed of something passing your vision (whether it be on a screen or in real life), not a simulated and synthesized "effect" added to the graphics engine. Let the frames flow clear and naturally. There shouldn't be a need to blur anything as nothing is blurred in real life. ;) Let our eyes perceive it as it really is and should be, IMO.

Revised? How does the recommended spec go from literally an entry level, low end card, to a high end gpu?

I think the older ones aimed at 1080p/30fps, while the current recommended specs are for 1080p/60fps

For twice the frame rate, they reccomend a card with almost triple the performance and cost.

The 7850/R7 265/R7 370 has actually 45-50% of the performance of a stock 970, it's kinda close to the 950.

After seeing the revised recommended specs... Could be a better looking/more demanding game than we originally thought.

how did that guy get early access?

The Japanese don't even get it until tomorrow.

Or is it already tomorrow for them with timezones?

No i'm pretty sure they are only a few hours behind the US.

Also, even with the Japanese getting it early (or on-time rather) hopefully Dank Souls' Wikidot will update with stats.

I plan on playing this game blind from Day 1 (Just like Demon's Souls *cough* best Souls *cough*) but for sure will be making a PVP build right after finishing.

I'm excited.

This game's looking really good.

Really reminds me of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1.

Kinda like what Dark Souls 2 should have been (Although to it's credit, DS2 did a lot of good and improved on a lot)

I'm still DS1 but wanted to know: on DS2, for a first run, is there an OP weapon like the black night halberd?

One day I will be able to play Monster Hunter Frontier in French/Italian/English on my PC, it's just a matter of time... 4 5 6 7 8 9 years later: It's finally coming!!!

Black Knight Halberd was never OP early on. Drake sword and Great Scythe were.

For DS2 the start is somewhat balanced.

I mean the longsword is one of the best weapons in the game and you get a +3 Fire Longword early on but that's quite a common weapon and what makes it OP is the amazing moveset.

In DS2, i'd say the only OP weapons are the longsword, Ice Rapier, and the +5 Dark-infused Chaos Blade (Also known as the faggot sword by everyone in the community)

Neither of which can be acquired early on.

Maybe someone else can chime in on DS2 OP weapons.

What are influencers?

You mean like people who helped popularize and spread DS3 like Vaati, Oro, SB, and such?

I started with the drake sword, it was amazing, and as soon as I had the required stats for the halberd i've been using only that. How can it not be OP? Even before upgrading it to +5 everything just died in one or two hits. Right now every thrust deals 300+ damages. I freaking love that halberd! Only reason I starting not to use it right now is because I want to finish the game in full artorias gear minus the shield cause I only had one sif soul

Just get the stone ring  (available in the first 2 minutes of the game) and any weapon is OP (for PVE at least). Poise is broken and the stone ring stun locks almost every normal enemy with 2HR1's. Fast weapons, big weapons, pole weapons....they are all great!

Swing all the weapons you come across and chose one you like the move set for. Pretty much all weapons are viable. Upgrade materials are not easy to come by until later in the game, where they are suddenly readily available. Because of this, you'll probably want to focus on upgrading only one or two regular titanite weapons until a certain NPC carries all the upgrade materials.

Heads up, twinkling titanite is not able to be purchased in unlimited quantities llike in DS1 and must be farmed. This is in contrast to regular titanite which is super abundant later on...you won't be running short on chunks and/or slabs like in DS1.

You can't really go wrong in DS2 with weapon choice!

You can instantly find much better weapons early on, both scalable and not.

I'm not saying the Halberd's bad just not what i would consider OP.

It was a slow weapon and did worse damage compared to other high-damage, slow, weapons.

Fine for PVE and mobs, but always better choices.

Definitely looked cool though.

IMO, the only thing that makes the BKH "OP" is using it for NG speed runs (because you can get it early and it upgrades with twinkling titanite). A basic buffed +15 Claymore, for example, will out-DPS the BKH all day (with a way better move set too)...but that means getting the large and very large ember which requires going to areas that can be skipped otherwise. Maximum DPS output on the black night weapons plateaus earlier than the "normal" weapons because they are slow and can't be buffed.
