Fanless rig

flimsy888

I want to make a build for my family with no fans, so it will be silent. I know a HDD will spin up but that is fine as it should not be spinning often as I want to use an sad for the os. It will be used for very light gaming and general web browsing. Budget: under $400, no keyboard, mouse, or monitor. Thanks!

How is that going to be more silent? You'll have both the sound of a fan and a pump.

Spend $10 on a silent fan. And use some sound dampening foam on the sides of the case, its like $1/foot

Then why not just get a completely passive cooler for much less? :D It's not like he would need to overclock.

What gaming. This should be an Internet browsing mashine. Very light gaming is Minecraft, that won't heat up anything and it's a pretty good cooler, but he can allways get better, I left $100 in the budget.

He doesn't need 120GB. The PSU is a waste of money since a PSU fans ramps up only in load, this system hasn't got any load, so it will be silent.
