@stconquest The thumbs up doesn't really give a answer... :P

Would I thumbs up it if you said something incorrect?

The answer is yes.

The answer is yes.

That is a valid point, but thank you. Think I had a blonde moment there.

Anyway, so it's set.

I'm getting him the Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 & MSI B85-G41-PCMate motherboard. Still haven't decided on what cooler to get though... :/ Thinking about the 212 Evo in Push/Pull... But you suggested other heatsinks... Could you suggest come more?

PS. I won't be getting the 212 Evo straight away, I will be using the stock fan, but changing the thermal paste to Arctic MX-4. I will get the upgraded cooler in due time, and only reason is to ensure that the CPU stays in Turbo mode.

The Pure Rock from BeQuiet.  You don't need the push/pull.  http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk009

Only thing with that one is that it doesn't have the Direct Touch Heatpipe... I have heard that apparently that makes quite a bit if difference... And I will be getting the Noctua NF-F12 just so I can have push/pull and take advantage of the 2x 4pin CPU fan headers.

Look up reviews.  Is it worth the extra 20-25 pounds?  Short answer:  No.

Oh, fair enough then. BeQuiet cooler it is then. No extra fan needed.

This is what happens when you try to OC a FX CPU on a board with 4 phases:

Surely there is a fault there. Thermal cut-out and everything...

That is the VRM catching fire.  To much power that could not be spread out enough.

Then how come I was able to put 1.48v through my GIgabyte GA-78LMT USB3 and the VRM never got hotter then 60'c?

Yes, which would mean it most likely has a better VRM... The Gigabyte only has 4+1 I do believe...

The quality of VRM components might not be the only factor.  Board design most definitely plays a role.

That is very true, but I am still skeptic about that video. Something doesn't seam right.
