today is my bday. I was given some money, need to figure out what to buy

bcredeur97

Hey guys! I would like to know what is the best path for me. I will list my rig below, tell me what you recommend upgrading for a total of <$300. This is roughly all of my spending money, so if you see that I can save a few bucks, do let me know. I know for sure that I want a new Monitor, my current one stinks, but that get me thinking ill need a new graphics card+power supply, which might just blow all my money when I also want some new peripherals. Anyway, let me know what you guys think!

My Current COMPLETE setup:

Case: roughly a $45 thermaltake I got a couple years ago.

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB VRAM GPU clock: 1075MHz Memory: 1250MHz yes, I overclocked it

CPU: Intel i5-3570k @ 4.2 GHz when winter comes it will be 4.4 GHz

Motherboard: Biostar TZ77B

HDD: 500GB Hitachi, along with 3 old SATA Hard drives I found and put in RAID 0 for an extra 120GB

CPU cooler: Corsair H60

PSU: Xtremegear 600 watt. sad thing is it has 2 really weak 12v rails. (Tried this PSU with a  Radeon 6950 once and it wouldn't power it.)

Monitor: Sceptre 19" @ 1360x768 (yes very strange resolution, not 1366x768 like most)

Keyboard: One of my dad's old Apple Keyboards for one of his old Macs

Mouse: a cheap wireless logitech i got at walmart for $9

Headset: Sennheiser PC350

Soundcard: The stupid cheap Steelseries USB soundcard that comes with their Siberia V2 Headset. (still better than my onboard imo)

Let me know if I forgot to list anything.

Thanks in advance for the shopping advice!

For graphics cards I can probably take 2 2GB 6950's from my dad's office. That will work for now. Save me a ton of money.

How big of a power supply will I need for this??? the TDP's are 200 watts I believe

I would probably grab something around the 700ish mark, you will realistically only use like 600w but you want some headroom and to have enough amps on your 12v rails to power them.

Would get a 1080p monitor as everyone else has said and a h100i.

cant fit an H100i in my case not enough clearance between the top and the motherboard. And My power supply really stinks I sometimes smell that horrid burning smell at night when Im gaming. So I really need a new power supply, just something that will power 2 6950's in XFire along with a 3570k and all the other parts in my PC. Im thinking the corsair CX 750M along with that 23" IPS 1080p screen. What you think and what do other people think?

ok apparently if the stars align perfectly I can get 2 2GB 6950's and put them in XFire for free, A new 1080p IPS monitor, a new 750 watt PSU, and a mechanical keyboard(which I want really badly). This is only if the products I found stay there for the next couple of days so I can get my cash in my bank account. I found some really good deals on brand new stuff from somewhere.

You didn't mention your RAM situation. I'm guessing it's fine then. If your case has sufficient cooling then I'd recommend a new mobo. I have grown to dislike my Biostar.

I slightly dislike my Biostar but I havent had any problems and Ive had it for almost 2 years now. My case's cooling is fine. And I have 12GB of DDR3-1600 that Im fine with.

Awkwardly enough since it's usually one of the more expensive keyboards, it's the G710+ http://pcpartpicker.com/part/logitech-keyboard-920003887
