About to buy this laptop!!

I seriously hope that this is a troll thread, because that laptop.. No,, just no. 

 

There is a class of laptops called "desktop replacements" which includes pretty much all the big, thick, and heavy gaming or workstation laptops, but that one is bigger than all of them put together.. Simply put, this is a desktop with a built-in keyboard and screen. It's meant to be carried to one place to be used motionless, then picked up and carried to another stationary location. This is not meant to be carried around everywhere or used on a plane.

If you need really really the hexcore CPU, it makes more sense to go with an mATX desktop with a 4960X, and then have a laptop to carry around with you when you need it.

If you can live without the hexcore CPU (which you probably can), and you can't live with a weak laptop, the laptop i7-4900MQ and i7-4930MX will be close in performance to a 4770, and plenty powerful for pretty much everything.

 

Just for reference, a laptop 780M is only about as powerful as a desktop 760..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

Wait, wait, wait... It came already? I thought you canceled the order and changed the Quadros out and switched it out with 780Ms...

It's common sense than an X79 laptop is not going to be loud?

 

150W TDP DESKTOP processor, 2 Graphics Cards, small fans. Of course it will be super loud. It will be louder than any desktop (unless it's stuffed full of Delta fans)
