  • Substance that provides energy to all the cells in our bodies, Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), may also be able to power the next generation of supercomputers

  • International team of researchers led by Prof. Nicolau, Chair of the Department of Bioengineering at McGill, believe

    • Published an article on the subject earlier this week in the “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS)”

    • They describe a model of biological computer that they have made

    • Able to process information very quickly and accurately using parallel networks in the same way that large supercomputers do

    • The difference being that the model bio supercomputer they have created is a lot smaller than current supercomputers

    • Instead of electrons that are propelled by an electrical charge, short strings of protein travel around the circuit in a controlled manner

  • Simply a proof of concept, researchers have a long way to go to move from the model they have to a functional computer

  • “We’ve managed to create a very complex network in a very small area” says Dan Nicolau, Sr

  • First step showing that this kind of biological supercomputer can actually work

Can the text not be black on grey, please?

If I use words like probably or most likely, it is because I dislike certainty. These words can probably be omitted and the sentence read as a certainty.

Yeah we think it's related to the camera. Not sure exactly how, but we'll diagnose next week.

VR roller coaster could have been soooo easy. HD 360 video the ride and hire some good CGI people to add an aircraft battle over the footage. It would remove the game interaction of shooting and make the ride a spectator but it would be way better. Set the phones to stream video from strong wifi at the ride booth and the operator would start the video with the ride.

I run my browser through NSA ports to make their illegal jobs easier. :P

The Shia LaBEouf Green screen stuff was all about him doing acts that college students asked him to do. Something for a project they were doing. As a clip in it's entirety looked like he was nuts. The media made click bait out of it.

You should put an RFID setup in the warehouse for stock management. Show everyone what you figured out they can do. Their limitations. That's got to be at least a few episodes of entertainment.

The VR rollercoaster Blocking someone's sight while manipulating their gravity better coordinate or there is going to be some bruised skulls. I've been on a coaster in pitch black. One of the dumbest rides I've ever seen.

@Slick You really shouldnt use sous vide to cook fish, like at all. It causes the protien to break down and you end up with mushy soggy fish that is slimey and feels like your eating frogspawn.

You need direct heat on fish so the sugars caramelise and the proteins go firm.

Main Rig:-

After a while, it seems like the WAN show has become my favourite LTT production. Even when it's late. Every. Single. Time.

The news themselves are somewhat interesting, but the thing that makes the show tick is the all-round relaxed feel of it and all the screwing around.

Do not feed.

I think that's false, I sous vide my salmon at 50.5c or 52c for 40 min and it turns out fantastic. If you want a firmer texture, turn up the heat to about 52c

Here in the UK Alton Towers (theme park) is using VR for its 'new' ride Galactica, (Air + VR). Only trailers for it at the minute, but once it is open in April there will be more. From the trailers the graphics are far superior to the samsung VR ride.
