What do you folks consider to be the best looking desktop solution? I found myself really drawn to the Silver Oppo HA-1.

I like the look of the Schiit asgard 2 and the bifrost even though I don't think the bifrost is worth it

I know this is for AMP and DACs.

 

Just thought I would have add that high end sound cards such as the Asus Essence STX line use the same or similar DAC and AMP chips similar to those that you recommened.

Sorry but I can't really recommend anything that is inside the pc in this thread, I know that they are good sound cards and all that, but a lot of people will get interference and just to keep their audio upgrade as simple as possible I wont put internal sound cards, so I dont have to explain to them how to remove the interference.

Werent expecting you to reccomended it.  Never heard of interference with the Essence STX, have you seen it before?

Yeah one of my friends has that sound card and he had interference on it. It took a long time but I fixed it.

Interesting.   May I ask what caused their interference?  I plan to change some componentsat the end of this year.

A mix of his ppower supply and bad power from the wall + a fault on his mobo

Damn that is a lot of things.  None of which is easy to diagnose, I see why you avoid recommending internal sound card.

I'll be getting a pair of Audeze LCD-2's soon, I have a maximus ranger vi for onboard audio.

Do you think I'll need a amp and or dac? Might be a bit silly for me to get these headphones and not get as good of an experience as I can for them.

If so could you recommend something for me to get, I live in the UK btw
