Work Log

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hello all, This PC case is a personal project that's designed to be a replacement for my 900D, while being visually very different and designed for my components.

oRefDPu.pngCS1n6J4.pngywOonBk.pngXXiL0pu.pngd6MKz8Y.pngAWQmy3Y.pngWKX7ct2.pngYCCPrMh.png

(The back of the motherboard is another front due to a rendering flaw)

The case was designed mostly around the materials I have left over from other projects, all being aluminium right angle lengths, 3mm and 5mm aluminium plate.

Dimensions: 440mm x 440mm x 180mm (160mm excluding corner braces)

Part List

  • 4690K
  • MSI B85 G43
  • GTX 690 (not finalized)
  • Hyper X Fury 16GB DDR3
  • Corsair H100i GTX
  • ThermalTake Riing 140 RGB Fans
  • (Modular ~750W PSU)
  • Intel 535 120GB SSD
  • WD 1Tb HDD

Looks awesome. I always like nonstandard motherboard orientations. Also building your own case is also awesome.

Great work so far! :)

What are you using to make the cuts? They look very clean and precise.

I really like this CPU cooler but the tubing is very rigid and bit hard to install.

It's not what you got, it's how you use it. ;)

This Monster just arrived, Had plans of recolouring the silver sections but one of the 1.5mm screws socket thread was stripped which is a let down, will try my best to sand the green logo down to white though.

Work has been done on the top brace, after having one on the front it really looked like it needed another at the back of the top.

Very much looking forward to the downsize. not sure what I'll do with the case, thinking of a dual system chassis. Or a fish tank.

I needed to make sure everything fitted in the case before I could paint it.

The system is definitely smaller in volume than the 900D, but it's not light.

Looking awesome! :D

I like that you've gone with the rotated motherboard layout. I think it's a more optimal component orientation in terms of controlling thermals and not enough cases out there use this setup, IMO. ;)

This scrap piece of aluminium saved me from my unsteady drilling hands, one hole being 4.2mm and 6mm, clamp it around the hole and the drill wont walk.

Where did you buy your acrylic?

I live in Australia and I bought mine from ebay, a 440x600x3mm sheet for $21 free postage that I am very happy with
