This has been such a clever marketing move by Valve for virtual reality.

They could have just released the recommended specs like Oculus... but they know that PC gamers love to benchmark, so they released this little tool and on hardware forums everywhere people start posting their scores and it creates a buzz.

This is pretty funny. How can this high-end GPU bottleneck a low end CPU in demanding VR application? :D Time for an upgrade.

  • just a general bench and the vr is kind of crippled due to that it does not take SLI into account.
  • CPU: 5960X @4.5Ghz
  • GPU1: TITAN X @1450 Mhz
  • GPU2: TITAN X @1450 Mhz (not used by VR)
  • RAM: 32GB DDR4 2800Mhz
