Shorten quotes if they exceed a certain length

Right now a quoted post is displayed in full length. Most people just write something like -snip- or a cut out a section of their quote, but I've seen more and more people just quoting entire pieces of text over that lengthen the page by more than 2x. If we could get something along the lines of this:

where the thread gets cut short with a click-to-expand option if people want to see the entire quote anyway. It makes it not a handful to scroll past 2 lengthy posts when some makes a lengthy post and then another person quotes that entire post right after that.

That's a different site, which he's using to demonstrate the suggestion.

 

It's something that we could consider adding in the future, but it's not something that is particularly easy to do.

In the meantime, you can click the top of the quote for it so fold in and be really small. :)

Whenever I quote a large post/image, I just wrap it in spoiler tags.
