Internal, since it is more of a direct connection

External 980 due to the fact that Thunderbolt 3 provides a PCIe interface with the CPU itself and desktop 980s are miles better than laptop 980s.

Primary Build: i7-4790 · 16GB Hynix DDR3-1600 · Sapphire Tri-X R9 390x · NZXT S340 · Win10 Pro · Seagate Barracuda 1TB T_T

Portable: 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 13" · i5-5257u · 512GB PCIe SSD · Intel Iris 6100 T_T

Hmm looking at the CPU in the stealth it's a pretty good processor but it is only 2 cores compared to 4 cores. Depending on the game this could affect gameplay. And HQ model CPU would perform better. Just something to keep in mind.

Depending on preferences decides which option is better. Do you want to play games wherever you want? Or just at home? Is battery life a factor for you? If you do not mind playing most games at home The Razer Blade stealth is a good option. But if you want to play games anywhere I would suggest getting a laptop with the dedicated graphics inside the laptop.

Keep in mind they now have a full GTX 980 in some laptops.

That's true, but those are some extremely niche products and most laptops are going to be using the 980M.

Internal - the Core also needs a PSU (+50$) and to be bought itself (+50$) and the 13' screen is abysmal for gaming (+100$ for a monitor) and you overpay 200$ when going for a Blade
