Transfer Office 2010 to new PC

Hey all,

 

I recently built a desktop, but am wondering if there is a way to transfer Office 2010 from my Win 7 laptop to the desktop (also Win 7). I found the product code for Office and entered it into the MS download page and got the response below.

 

The Office 2010 Product Key provided represents a product which is not eligible for free download. Please re-enter your Product Key and try again, or check the list of eligible products. If this does not work, you may be interested in downloading a free trial or purchasing Office 2010 products at http://www.office.com

 

Do I need to uninstall Office on my laptop before I can download it? Is there a workaround for this? I am not opposed to switching to an open source suite, but I would like to stick with what I know if possible.
