The Mac Pro Teaser. Announced 2013-14???

Sigmatech

So i just came back from the cinema now and although totally not something i would ever concieve buying...for those in the industry this must be in at least someway a pretty impressive feat.

https://www.apple.com/nz/mac-pro/

In terms of the aspects for thermal dissapation and acoustics this is pretty amazing.

Two things did stand out to me and my flatmate though is the I/O input would be a little finicky as front facing would mean the Power cabling would be kinda odd, yet if it were front/side-facing like i was theorising it also is kinda wierd (But i think it's a fair trade off).

However breaking a good small size-factor, this thing for ITX portabilty would be pretty robust to places here in New Zealand like Weta. Think on this...People working on Avatar are at Park Road or whatever, they get completely smashed but yet want to go home and see their families or whatever. Apple designs a specialised case for this and they just pack it up and go.

I think this design is a strong forward thinking step as we converge on smaller desktops, especially if a windows (for that matter gaming) oriented system were to appear. This is quite frankly damned sexy.

I/O panel wierdness aside i do really want to find out exactly what power supply this will have powering all this as well as the storage capacity (It wasn't listed as far as me and my flatmate could see) but we gather apple would deviously have versions catering to the needed capacity.

Nonetheless, have a look guys...very interesting concept. One i am very excited for in the near future for sure!

Just remember....its not for us gamers/benchies....not yet anyways....

the slide show? becoz this page had been on the Apple (US) site for months already...

btw, although it's a single socket machine, I do think the new Mac Pro could be a good VM barebone,,,
