All Steam Games 50% Off Using VPN?

RadiatingLight
Go to solution Solved by Altecice,

Nope dont be doing this, If Steam catch you they will ban the account without hesitation. (not to mention its evading VAT tax laws if you are in the UK).

Using the website www.steamdb.info, i can see that games are much cheaper in 3rd world countries, up to 50% cheaper, and are most expensive in the United States where I live. Using a VPN, would it in theory be possible to create an account with a location set to India, and gift games to my real steam account, while only paying the price it costs in India, 50% of the usual. what laws would this be breaking, and what would be the worst case scenario? Could valve ban/terminate my account?

Sorry for the slightly clickbait title...

Doesn't EA Carry Ubisoft games on Origin?

They're open to you using VPNs to buy games as far as i know, that's what their support has said multiple times.

Really? Can you post a link to somewhere they have said this? it seems very counter-intuitive for a company to promote purchasing games at half-price.

Any country with VAT or sales tax.  The USA is included into that.

A lot of States in the US don't have sales tax on digital goods. Also, if a business doesn't have a presence in your state generally you won't pay sales tax when ordering from them.

No, any country with digital goods VAT/ tax. Norway doesn't have this though we have it on other things, physical merchandise.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.
