Slingbox Alternative

I like the slingbox 500, but it is very expensive, is ugly and has a strange form factor, and has many features i dont need. Im looking to attached a device to my cable box and connect it to my computer, with a large hard drive included for recording. The biggest problem is that i can find many devices like this, but none in 1080p. Any options?

The closest thing I can recommend is the HDHomeRun Prime, which requires a CableCard and bypasses your cable box. For recording you would use the HDHomeRun DVR software, which normally records to a NAS but can be set up other ways.
