If people come over and watch TV with you flat is better

Yep, I have a curved monitor. Assuming a curved TV will be quite different.

Depends. Some guys like smaller ones, while others like the curvy ty.... Wait.. What were we talking about?

For living room screens (or basically anything other than monitors for a PC), curved seems like a gimmick to me. If you're viewing a curved screen from an angle, it looks kind of odd.

They aren't a gimmick, it truely looks nicer, but as you said, you must not look at it from an angle. So for livingroom TV, unless it's just you or you and a partner, flat is better.

The Part that is labeled tv...

I was joking haha, but honestly with the large viewing range then a curved TV would probably just wash out colors for people near the edge of the viewing distance in my opinion.

if its like that go for a flat one, would get wierd with curved and some people like me feel really sick when watching curved displays anyway

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Seriously get a flat one. Curved is pretty much a gimmick, however I can see the argument if it were a PC monitor that was only being viewed by one person and might actually enhance the experience

If you quote me or are replying to me please @ me. Thanks

flat don't waste your money.  curved is only useful in close viewing of 1 or 2 people.  computer monitors maybe,  but i have heard that it can throw people off doing work on computer screen

My dad bought a 55" curved TV, I didn't even notice from about 10-12' back that it was curved until he told me that he shouldn't have gotten the curved because he barely notices it...

One valid argument for curved is that depending on your lighting arrangement it could help block out glare.
