CCleaner Registry Cleaner

I have heard that many registry cleaners can be dangerous and make your PC unusable because they delete stuff that shouldn't be deleted. I was wondering if it is safe to use the one in CCleaner.

Did you hear the logic for it not being good for SSDs?

I would dismiss it. It does no more harm to the SSD than just normal usability.

And you're sure that's related to the SSD, and not just the laptop CPU being pinned in some form? That may also be a bug, and definitely not an issue with CCleaner and SSDs. Makes no sense if that were the case.

No I don't think it's related to the SSD.

I doubt it has anything to do with the registry editing feature.  But the program does include disk wiping features and those would be a bad idea to use on an SSD.

If you do it multiple times, yes.

True, single pass wiping not being a major issue.  But if you are looking to prevent recovery of deleted data on an ssd the better option is probably to encrypt whatever files you have prior to ordinary deletion.
