* Purpose (netbook, ultraportable, mainstream, gaming, desktop replacement, etc.): Gaming, browsing, videos, notes.

* Screen size preference: N/A

* OS preference (Windows/Mac/Linux): Windows

* Gaming requirements (list example games and desired fps/settings): League of Legends Max Settings 60FPS+

* Other performance requirements (video editing, CAD, etc.): N/A

* Portability requirements (constantly carried, frequently moved, mostly stationary, etc.): Constantly carried

* Brand preferences and reasons (already owned accessories, familiarity, business compatibility): N/A

* Any particular style that you like (examples are great): N/A

I heard from the LinusTechTips video on the Inspiron that the Wi-fi on it reduced internet speeds or something like that.

No - Macs have terrible heat issues hence why Linus doused one in water in hopes of getting the CPU under 90*C

Go for the Y700 then. I have it's older brother the Y50 and I'm very happy with it

Are you high? Its only the MacBook with that problem....jeez.

I would go for the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Linus recommended. It has a great value and is suitable for gaming.

But you can feel a Macbook burn a hole through your lap and/or sound like a jet engine because of the miniature fan trying to cool an i7
