I heard from the LinusTechTips video on the Inspiron that the Wi-fi on it reduced internet speeds or something like that.

No - Macs have terrible heat issues hence why Linus doused one in water in hopes of getting the CPU under 90*C

Go for the Y700 then. I have it's older brother the Y50 and I'm very happy with it

I would go for the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Linus recommended. It has a great value and is suitable for gaming.

But you can feel a Macbook burn a hole through your lap and/or sound like a jet engine because of the miniature fan trying to cool an i7
