Don't Want to Blow Up My PC

So I recently got a new graphics card. I originally was going to try to power it with my current power supply, but I'm not sure that is such a great idea. I was supposed to get an adapter with the card, but the seller forgot to include it. The adapter I need costs almost $7 if I want it in a reasonable time frame. I figure it's better to just invest the money in a quality PSU now, instead of spending it on something that might now work, or might damage my components.

Here are the parts I need to power:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 4590 @ 3.3Ghz
    • Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B85M-D3H (Micro-ATX)
  • Memory: Adata 2 x 4 GB @ 1333Mhz
  • GPU: EVGA Superclocked GTX 770 (600w minimum, one PCI-E 6 Pin, and one 8-Pin)
  • Storage: Samsung 840 EVO, 1 TB WD Blue, 3TB WD Blue (5400 RPM)
  • Case Fans: 2 x 120 mm

Any power supply recommendations? I'd like it to be modular if possible. I'd like to be cheap, quiet, and be modular if possible.

This would do: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx500m

Ps: you can use this to calculate how much power you need. https://www.msi.com/power-supply-calculator

I strongly disagree. Also amazon links were technically forbidden on the old forum but I haven't read the CoC since the update. Just use PCPP or link directly to that manufactures site. Those are ok.

Or an EVGA B/G2. There was a long running $20 rebate on the G2's that should probably still be up on Newegg that brings them down to a very affordable level.

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.

I guess OP would prefere "more expensive" to "blow up" with some corsair CX crap

I am aware of power supply calculators. I'm just looking for recommendations that are over 600w. I already have a 500w currently.

Exactly. If I'm going to be spending a lot of money, I want it to looks clean when I'm done.

$70 isn't terrible. I'll keep this one in mind.

I would, but I'm sure there's something out there that won't break my parts, and costs less.
