Did BIOS Update fail?

I tried a BIOS update in my ASUS X55U Laptop, and it apparently updated successfully.

 

But then my wallpaper keeps defaulting to plain black, and weird messages like "Windows has failed, shall I repair it?" or something like that keeps appearing...

 

Help... anyone?!
