XB'owner (Water cooled pc inside xbox one)

So, ever since the Xbox one was released, and we knew it's dimensions, I was pretty certain a pc would fit in there.
And so ever since I've been planning out how to optimize a build in there. I've had different idea's on how to make it possible, but yet it never quite fit.:( Then I finally decided to keep the psu out of the case (just like the xbox has) and work from there. And let me tell you there's a whole lot of room.:o
So now finally the time has come to actually build the damn thing, and see if my planning is any good.

So here's the component list:

Case:            Xbox one (off course)
Mobo:           Asus Maximus VII Impact
CPU:             Intel Core I5 4690k
Memory:       16Gb Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1600MHz CL9 (Low profile)
GPU:            AMD R9 Nano
PSU:            SilverStone ST45SF-G (450W sfx, 80 plus gold)
Storage:       750 GB WD Black 2,5" hdd + 250GB Samsung 850 EVO ssd + .........
Cooling:       EK-FB ASUS M6I - Nickel, EK-XRES 100 DDC 3.2 PWM Elite, EK-FC R9 Nano - Nickel, EK-CoolStream PE 240, 2x Noctua NF-F12

HAHAHA....xDxDxDxDxD, really thought I was gonna give the surprise away???? HELL NO!! this joke makes no sense now, it's all there. :|

Update #1

Update #2

Update #3

Update #4

Update #5,5

Update #6

But first to start off with, the case. We all know how it looks but still I have to make some photo's right??

I got the case from ebay, and apparently the inner metal case was also included, but I won't be needing that. If YOU do, you know where to find me.(Filthy console peasant)

Oh and by the way these feet are really sticky:

So that was the outside, now let's go inside:

And that was it for now. In the next update we're going to rip this thing apart. MUHAHAHAHA (insert devil emoticon) (WHAAAA, it's not here :()

I wonder if the dankest PCMR would flip shit that you're building in an Xbone case.

Don´t worry about it. Still is, since it´s a smaller chassis. Someone´s already done the original xbox, and the 360, it was only a matter of time before it was the xbox 1.

Give HDPlex some consideration for power, there's loads of room in the Xb-One where you could easily mount a 160W AC-DC adapter and a 250W DC-DC adapter. Would cover lower power configs and you could easily add another 160W AC-DC and draw 300W with a little bit of airflow. If not 1U PSUs from servers can work given you can work within their wattage

LTT's fastest Valley 970, slowest Valley Basic and Extreme HD scores

Damn. Looks like a really cool project. Throw an R9 390 in it to keep in line with the Xone being GCN-based :^)

Nice idea however the card is to damn long. :(

Actually, I have thought of those small supply's however they never have a high enough wattage, even if I were to use 2 or 3, which will drive the cost up significantly since you also need to take in account the power bricks you need to power those. I'll be going with a standard psu and modify that to my likings.

Thank you all for joining :|:):D I really didn't expect this amount of people.

Anyways enough of the boring stuff let's give you guys an update.

Today I've been doing some soldering, making the entire wire harness to fit inside the case.

so without further something something, here's my progress:

<insert "dis gunna be gud" meme here>

Make sure it's Intel and Nvidia parts, to make it the opposite of the real XB1 (which uses a custom AMD Jaguar-based chip and a slightly tweaked HD7790). :)

It'll be especially interesting to see how powerful of a CPU you can fit and successfully cool in there. Even the stock Intel heatsink would have a hard time fitting...

The Cheap SFF Wonder -- Turning a Core 2 Duo SFF machine into a useful member of computer society!

i5 3570 -- AS.Rock Z77 Pro3 -- 12GB DDR3 -- R9 380X -- 840Evo 500GB/1TB HDD

I speak the honest truth with a bit of snark mixed in. I'm sorry if it doesn't line up with your beliefs.

I'd hazard a guess at a Skylake i7 with either a 970 or a Nano/Fury X. Height isn't so much of an isse, it's more depth that's the issue

The XB1 is 3.1 inches tall, and that's the outer dimensions. A full height card will not even come close to fitting when stood up (half height might with a little work). I assume OP is aware of this though, and plans to buy a PCIe extender so that they can place it horizontally.

Any CPU cooler that will fit in those dimensions has to be tiny. Unless you fit a high RPM fan to it, that will severely limit the choice of CPU.

Can't wait to see how OP can get around these obstacles.
