Did your mother/father buy you things when you where a kid?

Just wondering if your parents when you where a kid or if you are still a "kid" have they bought you things like consoles or helped pay for your pc and such.

The only times my parents buy me anything is when its for christmas/birthday or school

Not in the slightest, I just was wondering more than anything.

Not really. My dad had Atari and Nintendo that were his, but I got to play them. My grandparents got a SNES for Christmas when I was 4. My father bought a PS1 for himself. I got a N64 for christmas from my aunt and uncle. An Xbox for christmas from my grandparents. Used saved money from birthdays (for 4 years mind you) for my first gaming PC. After that I believe my whole family pitched in on an Xbox 360 for me. Everything else I have I had to buy myself.

well I got a high end Laptop that was two years old when I was 12. When I was 10 I got a PS3 and when I was 13 a Galaxy S2, but this year (14) I had to pay for my PC

I never had any help from my parents to buy any console, pc, tech stuff. Well my father bought me nintendo nes, but I had to pay him back afterwards.

I had to pay back for most of the things my parents got me. On birthdays I'd get like a 10% discount.

I bought my own consoles and games but they bought a computer for everyone to use.

Other than that, I had to pay everything by myself after age of 9 years. My mother never helped me buying anything. When it comes to my father... Well, it's difficult to ask him for any help when he's been dead since I was 12 years old.

 

Now that I'm in high school, I still don't get support from my mother to buy textbooks for me to use in high school. Luckily my relatives are a lot richer than my family, so they help me buying things I need in high school.

Only when its new year maybe socks or something, pretty much every luxury thing i have i earned my self by working over the summers 8h/8Euros .

My mom likes to spoil me because she was poor when she was little and wants me to have whatever I want instead of not being able to have anything.

Though with money problems, they don't buy me much. They only buy me things when I ask and I don't ask very often, so we're fine.

I got £250 worth of stuff from my parents on Christmas and £50 off them for my Birthday, so if that counts then yes. Every now and then they would buy me a new game or something and they pay for my phone contract. Hopefully I'll become a little independent soon though.
