New forum running a lot slower than the old one?

first of, not sure whether this is the correct section but I don't know where else to put it.

Secondly, am I the only person who seems to be finding the forum running a lot slower? when ever I try to go to the home page, doesn't matter how I do it, it takes about 10-15 seconds to load (used to be basically instant), same with posts/topics, they used to load almost instantly but now there's about a 5 second delay between me clicking on it and it loading. My internet hasn't gotten any slower at lease compared to yesterday so all I'm wondering is has anyone else noticed that it's slower or is it just me with my craptastic 8 down and 0.75 up problem?

It's slower (could just be the servers rebuilding everything) and I dislike how it looks now...I'm one of these people who prefers a more plain website.

It is way faster for me. You are all just old people and can't accept a little change for the good. Deal with it

Slower for me as well, I think it'll weork better in few days when they sort everything out. And as with every change, people always like the old design better, and after a month we all will forget how it used to look. 

 

On a serious note, where are emotes?

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

It is pretty interesting. For me (and no, I am not saying this because I am a mod), it seems faster on my side (I use Firefox), and faster and more responsive on my phone with Edge web browser (Edge web browser on the phone displays pages like it does on your desktop, it can be set to not request the mobile version of pages, which is set to be that way, hence why I see all sites like it does on my desktop -- Correction, the web browser makes main content text larger for easy read. I don't know how it does it to be always right, but it does)

I'm guessing it is slower because there are still some migrations running in the background which are pretty intensive on the server.

It now takes about 5 seconds to load the main page, used to be 2-3 but I don't really mind

I've also noticed it only takes 2 seconds to load when you're not logged in.

Update: It got slower on my side.

I have just asked. And @Lvh1 is absolutely correct. They ARE indeed a lot of migration scripts running in the background on the server. It is estimated to take a week for all to finish, or so I am told.

While I have no data on this, as the new forum was out, it is possible that there is a lot of users active on the forum, and navigating through and discovering where everything is, catching up on the activity of the forum, and so on.. So this added load could all contributes to run things slow. Which probably explains why it now slow on my side as well.

So it looks like we need to be patient.

I would agree it is visually less appealing and has the fisher price look. Some of the buttons were moved into odd places too. (Not very power user friendly)
