Where is the "Like" Button?

if they just put a general like button then everyone would just click that to avoid having to make a decision

Yeah, I thought about that and agree. Everyone would just click "like" instead even when the other options apply. ;)

We were actually discussing this in the anime thread. Members are saying they are pretty much going to click whatever. Since none of the options fit for a lot of posts.

Friendly and Good point make no sense whatsoever.

Someone posts music. What are we supposed to click. Its not a good point because they aren't even making  a point. And what does friendly even mean.
Same goes for artwork etc. These options are great when there is actually a discussion or whatever but they don't make sense for anything else.

For me "good point" has really specific meaning, when someone makes a GOOD POINT. And by replying to him I can say "Good point, let's not forget...", "Good point, but yada yada yada..."

Like is as general as it gets. If they want to make general option it should be "like".

as i said before, it would completely defeat the purpouse of having the other options since nobody would bother to use anything except like

Good point is for giving someone neutral agreement without having to continue discussion. Friendly is weirdly named but I would use it as old style of general liking of content.

Well so far in the "Post your setup" thread, people have been using the "friendly" button as a like button it seems.

Yep, this is exactly what I mean and why I created this thread. The available options don't necessarily fit for a lot of the posts.

Old thread, but not too old. Yes, plz bring back the like button. Good Point and Friendly don't make any sense for certain post.

I personally think we should rename the good point button to thumbs up, because agree and good point are the same thing and having a thumbs up button would be a good general option if none of the others apply.

I would prefer "Agree", "Funny", "Friendly", and "Good Point" all being smashed together as a "Like"-button. We can keep the "Informative" one, but the four others more or less does the same thing in my book. And because of it I have more or less stopped using them.

I think they are very different.

• Agree: I have the same opinion.
• Good point: I might not have the same opinion, but that's a good point.
• Funny: The post might not be very helpful, but at least it's funny.
• Friendly: If someone compliments my work or helps me out with something.
