Is there any way to connect your gpu to the motherboard not directly, like with wires?

You can use PCIe riser cards/cables.

^^ There is a length after which the connection degrades, so don't use more than 2-3 risers on the same card

I think you shouldn't go past 30 cm, is that right?

Yeah. I couldn't remember the exact specification, but that's right.
