But it's possible they will.

There was also that rumor flying around that Nvidia would make a dual GPU Maxwell GPU. I guess it turned out to be false (though it still is possible they did) but they could easily make one for Pascal.

Every dual-GPU they ever made was a hot, loud disaster. People don't buy them

Not gonna happen. It's that easy.

Qualcomm jumped ship from TSMC's 16nm Finfet+ over to Samsung and their 14nm FF LPE node. AMD dropped TSMC too. There must be a reason for this. TSMC being on time, or in fact ahead of Samsung's 14nm FF LPP node is not likely.

Considering Samsung hasn't started production of HBM2 8 hi, this seems even more unlikely. Especially since AMD has priority access to HBM2 from SK Hynix which are the only ones producing 8hi, which is likely very limited in supply.

Even worse, NVidia's CES thing was a fake, repeating NVidia's infamous woodscrew farce.

Rumours state second half of this year. This rumour is a full quarter ahead minimum. I sincerely doubt this is true.

Titans, the cards that basically  nobody except Linus should be using.

Titans are the early adopter tax on people who want the big die chips the second they are available.

True, which is why they didn't make a dual maxwell gpu. AMD has definitely been a bit better with their Dual GPUs (though they still weren't the best). It is wholly possible that my 32 gb HBM2 a dual gpu is what they mean, though it probably would sell pretty terribly.

Damn nVidia, beating AMD to the punch again. Ouch.

I may wind up getting the 1080 card until the GP100 Ti card is released. The Titan is pointless (to me) so I'll just go with the 980 equivalent and wait for the 980 Ti equivalent. Pretty excited about this new tech!

No more Ti version.

The Titan probably will. I don't think the GTX 1080 will, but I could be wrong.

I hope there's going to be another really good price-performance GPU in the 1000s series like the 970.

Follow the topics you create using the "Follow" button in the top right corner!

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

I am more eager for these cards more than any before them, because it's the first time since I've entered tech enthusiast circles that I've witnessed a node shrink of GPUs. :D

Me too

This source is fake, please remove it, no where in that source does it confirm the Pascal GP100 to be released in April, also why would NVIDIA make a massive gap between the GP100 Titan and GP100 1080ti, it makes no sense, also if you read he says debut, not release, expect a Q1 2017 for GP100

so they will be 1xxx after all... interesting

Yeah I find it funny because when I first got into PC's I was excited about the release of the GTX 295 and I remember jokingly thinking "I wonder if there will be a GTX 1080 one day"

Oh shit the performance jump is massive...

"In addition to this, we’ve also recently spotted the GPU GP104 in a shipping manifest on Zauba. According to leaked details, the chip comes in a 37.5×37.5mm BGA package, and has 2152 pins. Which indicates that the new Pascal chip is not only smaller in size, but features a much denser architecture making the chip theoretically faster than both GTX 980 Ti and TITAN X."

"Further, the GP104 will have a die size of around 300 to 350 mm² as compared to the GM204’s 398 mm², while the GP100 aka the Big Pascal will come with a little more 450 mm². Moreover, the chip is rumored to feature 32GB of VRAM and nearly 17 billion transistors in a relatively smaller packing."

That would be incredibly disappointing if the full GP104 chip can't significantly outperform the Titan X. It would probably equate to AMD completely wiping the floor with Nvidia this upcoming generation.
