The problem I see is that buyers would only want to buy the patents and services. Nobody wants to buy a legacy of unpopular hardware. I'm sure Microsoft would be interested in those patents and services, they're already going for Nokia and they love to spend money.... so why not?

It is very surprising that they were able to sustain that long. Guess that they finally cannot sustain their company and have to sell it.
