My PE 2900 is running Linux right now, I assume CB doesn't have a linux client? Server-level hardware is so much more fun to work with than consumer-grade stuff, but it's oftentimes a challenge as well, as the server was never meant to be a gaming box, and you can forget about any sort of overclocking. But you will learn a lot about hardware and pushing it past design limits.
