What is possibly the cheapest Pentium G3258 'Anniversary Edition' build?

AlanAlan

I am looking to play some games and stream movies and videos. I think I will overclock it in the future.

Thanks

I think that for streaming you would need something better than a Pentium, like an i3 at least.

You'd a LOT better with a A10 7850K since the iGPU is several TIMES better than the Intel HD 4400 in the Pentium

by streaming, do you mean watching them via internet?

if yes, then a G3258 would be plenty powerful for it...

if you're planning on broadcasting, get an i5 at least...

Just to watch movies and videos on the Internet not broadcasting

AMD APU would be best for gaming on integrated gpu

5800k is usually cheap, but you can also get newest quad core 7000 series

make sure you get fast or overclockable ram

1. Where are you from?

2. What is your budget and what you want to have / buy?

Will this be overclockable

210usd g3258 : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6wQNK8

231usd amd apu: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZsNT6h better media pc with budget gaming capabilities.

or change the amd build to an a10-7800 instead. for a better igpu, faster ram.

Yes it can, but i dont recommend on exceeding 1.35v on this board, but wont improve gaming unless you add a dedicated gpu.

For a budget media/budget gaming pc. the amd is probably simpler.

G3258 is fine if you're planning on getting a dedicated GPU...

else try an AMD A10 APU...

G3258 is a fantastic processor and the overclocking abilities of it is almost unmatched.  For media streaming, sure! Buy yourself a budget PC with the Pentium and if you want to get into some video games later on, stick a graphics card in there.  The Pentium can handle some mid-range GPUs without bottlenecking (especially if its overclocked).

This is the sort of build it will probably cost you in the neighborhood of 250-300 dollars.  This build someone recommended is not bad (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6wQNK8) but its missing a case and the Power supply on the list is way overkill unless you plan on overclocking it to 7gHz.

Without gpu, but it can play games. Overclocking memory also yields better FPS

The igpu is the same ashigher tiers, the next tier is the 7850k ,but the improvement is not much at all, not worth the price. better spend the money on other better parts. the 7870k is however a much higher clocked igpu. but that the asking price, might as well save bit more and get a used gpu or something.

There are cheaper ones, just not worth it though. You still need a proper daily workhorse thats fast and reliable.

just some note: this mobo will not be safe to overclock the a10 7850k as the mosfets have no heatsink. but mild oc may still be doable. that psu is fsp based also, works but slightly unreliable. The hdd will slowdown very quickly once files are loaded up due to the sheer fact how disks work.
