Adaptive-Sync is not the same as Adaptive V-Sync.
Adaptive V-Sync is an NVIDIA feature which enables V-Sync when you are above your monitor's refresh rate, but disables it when you are below. It does not sync the monitor to the GPU's frame output like FreeSync/G-Sync do.
