Highest temp for safe FX9590

Go to solution Solved by vagabond139,

so during idle, it jumps between ~16c to around ~55c.

When on load, using prime 95, smal ffts, is a WAT

hold up

its a negative numer :/

~0.6c

it crashed :/

Well its time for a cpu cooler upgrade, the FX 9590 is a mental cpu when it comes to heat, or you could just keep the current cpu cooler if you don't put it under full load like that normally. Or you could strap a Delta fan to it if you are a deaf.

What is the highest temperature beofre everything melts and explodes

(not to that point)

just when it is unsafe temps

Thanks

Dang you post a lot of threads about your 9590.

And I'd say around 85C is cutting it close.

so 78 is ok?

I thought throttling starts at 62C? Or am I completely wrong lol?

idk

prime95 just passes 800k mark

Not sure, It gets really hot though

62C is well within load temperatures.

Add a fan on the heatsink will greatly improve it

2 fans already

want another one?

78C is pretty close but it shouldn't hurt the chip.

78 is running prime 95 blender

Prime95 is not good for CPUs, I suggest using a different stressing tool like Cinebench. But 78C in Prime95 is not too bad.

cpu seems to be passing everything in prime. Just short 15 mins and itl be running one hour no issues

passed cinebech no problems

Yes but Prime95 makes your CPU hotter than anything you'll ever do so 78C is a worst case scenario which isn't too bad.

Still 78 with fans? Now I know why amd chips are famous for heat

especially if its almost 50 mins straight

Still 78 with fans? Now I know why amd chips are famous for heat

while running prime for almost the past hour. And its also not liquid cooling, which is recomended

My top 390x card gets to 100c when folding or something, dont remember, but 100C is the max
