What's the latest AMD driver?

Hi, I have a R9 380 4GB and I'm wondering which driver I should download: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Window...

Apparantly those two are the latest ones, but should I download the 15.12 or the 16.1 Hotfix? Can I even install the hotfix by itself? I'm very angry at AMD's garbage Crimson drivers which stopped my GPU fans and made it go to 96 degrees C. Do the drivers in that link fix the fan not spinning issue as well? Any help is appreciated.

Radeon Software Crimson Edition 15.12 is the latest stable version. The hotfix on that page includes everything else, and the hotfix.

Thanks for replying. So I should get the 15.12 then, because it will give better performance? Does 15.12 fix the stupid fan issue?

The fan issue was fixed in a previous hotfix version which is now part of the stable release, I'd only get the new hotfix if the fixes in it's release notes apply to you.

The drivers are given their version number based on the year and month they're released in.  IE 15.12 means 2015 December and 16.1 means 2016 January.

AMD comes out with a "fool proof" driver once a year (December) with as few of errors as possible.  Every other driver released is going to be labeled a "beta" or "hotfix", they will add things like game profiles and small fixes for extreme circumstances.

So to answer your question, if you're building this machine with the hopes of never having to fiddle with anything and you're not concerned with being on the bleeding edge, get 15.12.  If you would rather be on the bleeding edge understanding you might have a few more quirks than you may have intended, get 16.3.

BTW the fan issue is ONLY a issue if you don't have a reference card.  In which case you shouldn't be installing the AMD generic driver, please consult your manufacture.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!
