PSU works. Power button does nothing.

The lights on the mobo turn on when I plug the PSU into an outlet so it definitely works. Hitting the power button does 100% absolutely nothing. No fans start - nothing.

Have you plugged it in to the right headers on your motherboard.

check your front panel headers to see if they are connected properly

I should have. I used the included plug for everything.

If you have a spare power button around, you could plug it in and see if that starts it. I had that happen to me with a really old computer once.

Plug them directly into your motherboard and see if it works.

have you tried bridging the pins on your motherboard/ testing that the button works properly, otherwise, RMA the board.

Well... I used a screwdriver and I think I did it... Nothing happened.

If you did it correctly, motherboard likely isn't functioning.

Pretty likely. Did you make sure both pins were in contact with the metal piece at the same time?

Yeah I'm pretty certain they were both being touched.

This probably won't do anything to help, but it might eliminate any conflicts. 

Try shorting the pins with EVERYTHING removed from the motherboard except the CPU.

If it still doesn't boot, I either want to say faulty motherboard, or possibly power supply.

I have had an instance in the tech department at the store I work for where the light on the motherboard is lit, but no matter what we did, it would not boot, like yours.

Turns out it was the power supply, as we hooked up a new out of box one and it booted right up.

 

Either check it with a power supply tester, or cheat and short the Green wire and any black wire on the 24-pin connector. Google it if you've never done it before.

New problem... Took all the screws out... Mobo refuses to come off the mobo tray??

Check for a hidden screw, also could be snagged on the PCI brackets or the I/O shield.

I would do an out of the box test (ie. running the system on a motherboard box) to make sure that your case isn't shorting out the motherboard.

If that circumstance is true, the motherboard is not functioning.

Shorting out would involve the system turning on and then off instantly.
