well what if it is not ghz edition

Doesn't make much of a difference, if you have the budget and don't want to wait for the 9000 series 7970 all the way.

Case = Bitfenix Prodigy, Motherboard = P8Z77 - I Deluxe, CPU = 3570k @ 4.2GHz, RAM = 2x 8GB G-Skill Ripjaws, GPU = Sapphire 7950 Boost Edition, Storage = 256GB Samsung 840 Pro.

if you overclock an 7950 or 7970 it's on par with an 780 at normal clock speed

What kind of overclock would you need for that? an extra ghz?

Are you running some kind less-than-1mhz brain there? I don't see 7970 getting 30+% performance increase after overclocking, that's what you would need to get 780 stock clock performance.

And did i mention 780 can be OC-ed as well? xD

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

 An overclocked 7950 barely outperforms an overclocked GTX 760 at $20 dollars more.

I seriously do not understand all the 7950 fanboy'ism in here...
