Indeed it does! (I'm typing this on one.) The XT layout takes some time to get used to, though.

I programmed my Soarer‘s into QWERTZ with Scroll Lock being a layer key. That makes a lot of things less annoying...

Hm... Glorious PC Gaming Race released the GMMK White Ice Edition (Pre-Built) on their site today(?). Pretty much a recolor of the existing GMMK (Pre-Built), and currently priced the same too ($109.95). Not customizable (...yet?).

• Switches: Gateron Brown.
• Keycaps: ABS Keycaps. (Different from Glorious's Black/White Mechanical Keyboard Keycaps.)
• Chassis: Matte Aluminum Faceplate, ABS Plastic Base.
• Cable: Braided. Undetachable (Full-Size), Detachable Micro-USB (TKL, Compact).

 

Looks pretty slick in the pics. I wonder if the matte aluminum faceplate is a silvery-white or more of a platinum-gray (lighting in the pics makes the actual shade a little bit ambiguous). The white ABS keycaps are clean and minimalist, but oddly not appealing to me? Can't quite put my finger on it. Would be very interested in a barebones version.

I think I'm drooling at the thought.

I absolutely despise XT layout. My XT was a pita to restore, partly cause I had to buy $30-40 of tools to do so (punches for foam and six clamps). Never again, unless it's an F AT or F122. Not worth it at all. XT layout is the worst I've ever tried. Imagine ISO, which is already shit, and then make the important keys like enter and left shift smaller and stepped. Boom, XT. Doesn't help that the protocol requires an active converter (not a huge deal, just something to note).

 

Cap BS is pretty good, and the board is built super well (as expected from an IBM board) but never again (with an XT anyway).

 

Also, have I seen you recently on Deskthority? A board there looked very familiar to yours lol.

I use my Scroll Lock to switch between the Degrees and the Less-than, because QWERTZ...

 

Sometimes, being German annoys me.

I actually prefer the XT layout.  Mine was mint condition and the foam is still holding up so I didn't need to do anything, not even clean it.  Only thing I don't like about the XT layout is 10 function keys, so I'll need to make another layer on the converter to go up to F20 or something.  That's my only complaint.  The stepped keys are because they have no stabilizer and force you to press center.

I know it's because they have no stab. Doesn't make it any less annoying lol.

But F AT is easy to ANSI mod

 

I don't know anyone who buys an F AT to use the BAE and 1u backspace.

About a week for the delivery itself. But I was waiting several months for them to restock.

BTW These Snow caps are thicc. I'm really impressed with their quality, heavy and a nice velvety texture. PMK really stepped up the game over the previous Ice caps.

I'm hooked, can't wait for my other orders to come in so I can build my own!

 

 

Trying the Gat Blacks for the next week or two, so far they seem good. Missing the tactility of my MX browns but I like that they have a heavier feel, a lot better than MX Reds IMO.

 

Plugged my sample pack into the numpad, just so I can try them out from time to time, get a feel for other switches I may want to order (did NOT use the included o-rings).

 

Actually impressed overall, case construction is really good considering the price. Stabs are not screw in so they have some play and in particular my 'backspace' key is scratchy, I will lube all the stabs in the near future.

 

If RGB is the name of the game then this will satisfy those cravings.
