I have two keyboards that I really like.  A Redragon K552, and a Dell AT101W. Currently I just use the Redragon because it has NKRO when gaming whereas the AT101W I believe does, but none of the PS/2 to USB adapters I tried will do it.

Neither the Redragon nor the AT101W exhibit chatter at unacceptable levels.  (Redragon only seems to do it once in a while on the N key, and the AT101W has NEVER done it whatsoever).

Nice one, my brother formerly used a Redragon K552, same model as yours, until the keys started chattering 8 months into usage. Was highly disappointed with the keyswitches in that thing. I envy your luck with that keyboard as the build of the K552 is awesome.

It's a shame that so many modern mechanical keyboards end up with chatter like this.  I'm hoping in the long run this one doesn't start having too many issues.  So far only the N key has acted up a couple times.  If it does end up with issues I'll probably end up returning to the AT101W, but I really need to find a good PS/2 to USB adapter.

I personally blame the switches and PCB. Cheap-ass Outemu switches and a cheap board was the culprit of both my brother's former K552 and my former E-Elemant Z-88 succumbing to chatter. Both had Outemu Blues. Both chattered.

I now own three new keyboards each with their own respective switches, eldest one at around 5 months, second eldest 4 months, and most recently 3 months.

I've built all three myself so time will test if they fall victim to any failures.

I've had that keyboard for a good two years and it was decent but the stock cherry red switches were a huge miss for me. Also, the keys were pretty wobbly if that bothers you.

The best thing that can be said about Cherry is that their switches are pretty binding-resistant. As far as smoothness and wobble go, they're pretty big misses.

Carbon fiber plate? Did you lube the stabs?

Still waiting on my C3 stabs to come in.

Yeah I lubed them. Like all stabs they do need it to not rattle, but they did seem to take less than normal and feel and sound better. Also they were already super smooth to begin with, so they only needed lube to eliminate rattle.

And yeah, the plate is carbon fiber.

Logitch G910 here. I really like the Romer-G switches. Plus the RGB lighting looks amazing ? As far as I can remember I've always used Logitech keyboards and mice, my G 15 keyboard had been serving me well for 12 years when it died from a can of coke that was spilled over it (shame on me).

There is no replacement for RGB except more RGB ?

oh i see, ill check that out. how does the performance?

Sorry I'm almost a month late ^^;

I don't have the Venture yet but Bluetooth performance on the Anne Pro 2 has been pretty respectable. I haven't been able to notice any input latency when using my AP2 in Bluetooth mode, even when gaming.

So, the new decade begins this week.

Going into 2020, what are some keyboard trends you would like to see end in the new year, or even decade? Mine would be:

  • Reliance on Cherry switches exclusively in a majority of prebuilts, and also elevating Cherry as a "premium" when there's far better switch makers out there
  • Ugly "gamer" fonts on keycaps; that hampers usability more than it looks "cool"
  • Ugly over-designed "gamer" casings that take up far more desk space than necessary
  • Low profile but not really designs; go all the way if you want to commit to a low profile design
  • Non-standard bottom rows; allow keyboard owners to customize their boards easier, please! RGB lighting goes only so far.
  • Only making aftermarket keycap sets for the basic 104 key ANSI layout
  • Cheap, laser-ablated ABS keycaps on expensive keyboards

Hm. Trends that I'd like to see more of in the next decade.

  • Customs becoming more mainstream, similar to how custom PCs have become more mainstream in the last years.
  • More mainstream keyboards adapting to those trends by getting better
    • Thinking keycaps, stabs, switches, and overall build becoming better, instead of just going for that gAmEr aesthetic (e.g. Logitech G910)
    • Hopefully gasket mount on some options?
  • Layouts like 40%, 65%, 75% and 96 key becoming available on more keyboards, especially mainstream.
  • More switch options, maybe even hot swap on mainstream.
  • More optical and hall effect switches.
  • More options for less expensive customs.
  • More options for silenced switches.
  • More ISO Nordic (please...)

Some trends I'd like to go away (I think this is what your list was :3)

  • $50 keyboards like the Blackwidow, G710, G910, G813, K95 and Apex M800 being sold for their current prices. (Slight hyperbole)
  • Pricing of certain switches being so high.

Can't think of any more on the spot.
