Also you need to find out what kind of SMD LED it uses. If they are counter suck into the PCB you shouldn't have any issues with the LEDs,  however if the sit on the surface of the PCB you will be limited to switches that have a SMD LED notch cut out of them. Otherwise you won't be able to push the switch in all the way.

Nice, that's a very different switch.

I don't think they are countersunk. I might just unsolder all the LEDs then. It's pretty old at this point. I preordered it before it came out and it has the logo from two generations ago and the d key wasn't working right.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at here in the video at around 5:00 and 6:30. What type of LEDs are those.

That was to Ragnorok64.  You are going to have to desolder stuff anyway. Your k70 likely has through switch LEDs.

It should also work with BSUN switches as well as invyr and supervan "gsus" panda switches

I think what you are refering to is the clipping of pcb mount legs, boards like the Massdrop alt and ctrl dont support pcb mount switches and as such switch legs need to be trimmed

LEDs look counter sunk, so you don't have to worry about it.  However you will have to clip PCB mounting legs off of each switch if they have them, as that board has no holes for them.

Typing this from my new Navys now. They have a much nicer click feeling than blues and are slightly lower pitched than a blue. They require a ton more force which I like. I also managed to delaminate my quote key so if theres some easy fix that would be nice. As I am currently trying to remap a function key to it now

Get a small piece of wire, like a single strand from some speaker wire, and solder it between contacts, essentially replacing the broken trace.

I went ahead, extended, and ordered a Massdrop Alt. Trying to decide what replacement switches to order for it. Right now I really like my Kailh box brown as they are relatively quiet and don't pick up on mic. 

 

I'm thinking of getting some Kailh Speed Copper. Anyone know of other tactile, non-clicky switches, that are good for gaming?

Kailh Box Royals, from my experience, have been pretty great for gaming. Just make sure to order from Novelkeys so you're ensured that you get retooled switches.

Thanks for the suggestion. Looking at this review

 

I'm wondering if Box Royals would be too heavy on initial activation force for a good gaming switch.

They're about 40g actuate/70g bottom out so if you're used to that weighting then you should be fine.

Except it's not a linear switch. The tactile bump before activation is at least 65g.
