Mechanical Keyboard Club!

Dave :)

Just thought I would put this here in case anyone's interested.  This will be the first time Massdrop has sold GMK keycaps on their site.

It will be a replica set of The G8*-3000 Triumph Adler aged teal colorway.  Read about it here -->   https://www.massdrop.com/buy/triumph-adler-gmk-keyset

Just bought a CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate, and threw my Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 in the trash where it belongs.

Pretty freaking nice keyboard with nice brown switches.

Behold the beauty

You threw it in the trash? I'm sure you could have sold it for some decent money people are willing to shell out for it instead of just throwing it away.

My Current PC: PCPartPicker I built this August of 2019. I'm loving AMD's 3rd gen Ryzen.

I obviously didn't throw it away lol

I'm going to sell it, my point is just that it's a trash keyboard :)

Okay! So the PCB, Green switches and Teensie controller turn up tomorrow! @Dave :) Is coming round tomorrow to give me some moral support while I do some soldering!

Hopefully Wednesday I should have the new Stainless steel plate. I will be spraying the plate in the afternoon and then in the evening will be mounting up the switches etc to it!

Im looking at buying a Corsair k70 (I live in the UK)

the price on amazon for the one i'm looking at is £120 - 160
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LUNP4LQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3AOMXKYBVOWXG&coliid=I3UUB3Z2LRV2ZQ&psc=1
It would be cool to get it in gun metal grey to match my case but i would like a backlit keyboard with cherry mx brown's but im not overly hyped on what looks like £10 or more being stuck on the price tag for having a full range of colours and programmable settings for the sake of more money. iv looked around and cant seem to find an alternative k70 without the full range RGB on amazon or anywere for that matter.

Do they make them? and aside from the K70 what are some great keyboards to choose from? bear in mind i have been using a saitek eclipse 2 with non mechanical keys and a flimsy design with a space bar thats slightly broken due to me trying to clean it out but popping the keys off.

Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Playing the guitar and doing a degree in computing are my favorite things.

Have a look at the CM storm Quickfire series, The Filco Majestouch 2 and the Ducky Shine 3. These are all great keyboards in your price range! The ducky would probably be the best quality out of the three... IMO...

Well here are some photos of my project keyboard! Going to make a short build log of this tomorrow.

Ducky Shine 4 with Cherry MX Red switches. Got it from a sale and payed 99€ ($108) for it. (incl. shipping)

For the money I think it's absolutely amazing. Also found a nice EQ space bar for it.. :)

Received my keyboard from massdrop last monday. I got the Varmilo VA87M with grey keycaps and cherry mx tactile grey switches. I have owned browns, clears, reds, and now these. These switches are by far the best. I do however need to replace the window's key with linux ones.

That's known as the Shine 4 Equalizer spacebar. I know for sure that you can find it over at Teraset for €5.
