I switched from a ducky cherry mx brown to a razer blackwidow ultimate tournament ed (10 keyless) with those china razer switches. call me surprised. they feel like a "better" version of cherry mx blues. I've used a lot of mechanical keyboards through the years. these razer switches are not bad at all

I did the opposite. I bought a Razer Blackwidow full keyboard in America a couple of years ago and then bought a Ducky Shine 3 with blue switches. Was the best change that I made!

Also, you must not have cats for the computer to put on a pedestal like that. I have to put it on a wide, secure surface just to be semi safe with the cats...

my brother couldn't tell the difference at all between cherry mx blues and the razer green switches. I on the other hand can feel that it is different. the tactile bump comes much sooner compared to mx blues. dunno if that's by design. coming from a full size keyboard to a 10 keyless keyboard was a good experience. it's a lot comfortable and my already spacious table felt a lot bigger

I actually have 2 cats :D the case is heavy it won't move even if you bump on it. it's 100% safe

I actually like the browns more than the blues right now. I will wait til everything arrives before fully making my decision.

The 10 keyless is much nicer than the full sized. Just so much more room for activities!

Well you are a braver man than me... My cats just push stuff all the time. Little bastards!

Does anybody know where I can get a textured rubber space bar, like the one found on the Corsair K series mechanical keyboards?

I cant find anything exaclty like that but here is a couple of alternatives:

Red shiny one, made of aluminium

Its a 3D printed cap. Just choose what it is printed using

Wooden one

That's the actual design of the Razer switches. Their actuation point is a couple of millimeters lower than the actuation point of a Cherry MX switch. Which is why you feel the bump comes sooner than a blue switch.

I have got a plate mounted mechanical keyboard, it has got LED's on the switches. Am I still able to open the switches up to change the switch type?

You will have to desolder the LEDs as well as the switches to be able to open them.

Unless you have what they call "sip sockets" installed which allow you to remove the LEDs without desoldering, and a custom plate that allows switch top removal without desoldering.

Damn, I was hoping that I might be able to pop them off and for it to not disrupt the LED... Guess I will leave them alone...

Just bought some Greens and clear switches. I am going to desolder some of the LED's on the board and swap the stems and springs out.

I have seen quite a few people using two tools to take off the top of the switch to get at the stem. Any idea where I could get one from?

There is a guy on GH that makes custom tools to take off switch tops, but he only makes small batches at a time, and not very often.

Took me a while to finally get my set.

You can look up other things to use. I've heard of people using bent paper clips.

Vintage MX-Blacks :) .  Still debating on which board I should put them in.

I heard this is pure porn for some people who dedicated their life to linear switch

get a custom board, the perfect layout for yourself for this

Yeah, they are extremely smooth.  The only other thing I have that even comes close in comparison are the blacks in my G80-3700HQAUS keypads.

I have already ordered a Nerd60 PCB + hard anodized plate from GON last month, and I have a aluminum case here waiting.

Sounds great!

so you are a 60% guy? I can imagine myself using 60% , but if I can choose, I would prefer the duck viper layout (HHKB)

Anyone else had problems with cherry mx green switches? barely went a couple of

weeks before my ctrl button has become really sloppy and loose. It pains me every

single time i have to press it, it truly is a massive blemish on the otherwise nice

keyboard. The green switch on my switch tester also changed  drastically quickly

after some abuse.

For the longest time I keep telling myself that I would never use anything smaller then a TKL, but the 60% form factor has started to grow on me.

Wish I would have gotten one of those blue-grey Eagle kits.

I still love TKL's though, and would love to pick up a winkeyless kmac, or something similar.  I'm also talking to someone about getting a SSK finally.

I have just bought some green switches, will tell you if anything changes with them. Does sound kinda strange. How hard are you hitting them? Have you thought about opening the switch to take a look?

I have also just managed to get a great deal on a Filco Majestouch 2 TKL. In the last week I have gone from one mechanical keyboard to three! This is the one which will go into the Vortex Aluminium case and have the new switches/ keycaps! It will also eventually be given a wooden case.

Im not being crazy, I can just open the switch up. change the spring and stem to make it a different switch... Right? The outer housing doesnt change between switches, does it?

What do you mean by "very sloppy and loose?"

The CTRL key isn't a commonly pressed key.

I have no problem on my MX green keys.  My Q key started off mushy originally and didn't click very well (only clicked If pressed on the very left side), but now feels just like the other keys, and clicks just fine.

Yes, Once you open them up you can swap the springs and stems of the different switch types around.

My SSK and all the other boards has been sitting in the storage for a while, I like them but... I cant get my hand out of 68g Blues

Maybe I've to force myself to change to other board one day

I've been using a mini screw driver (the one that you use to fix your glasses) to help me open the switch up

It's not hard once you know the trick and I can open a switch up in matter of seconds now
