Creating EFI Boot Partition

Hey guys. So I just got my new 850 EVO and installed Windows. I erased every partition and had Windows create the new ones. Problem is, it didn't. It saw that my old drive (Which was plugged in) had a boot manager and just added my new install to that boot manager. So now it boots from the old boot manager and I can't for mat my old drive. Is there anyway to fix without a reinstall? I already have everything setup. Thanks.

In this situation I'd use a program such as Minitool Partition wizard to clone the boot manager to the SSD. I'm not sure if that would work but Windows should figure out something's up (if anything goes wrong) and automatically fix itself.

 

In future you should really remove other drives from the system before a fresh install - unless you're installing another os such as Linux.

You can't go from MBR to UEFI / GPT without deleting the partition.

Windows didn't create a boot partition. My SSD is already GPT.

Yeah, I know. I didn't have much time to do this upgrade, so I skipped it. Now it's costing me way more time.
