`how to make my ram run at 1866

so i have 1866 RAM and it runs at 1600 how do i  up it? i have UEFI and i dont have a XMP profile option 

 

i never mess around in uefi so idk how to do anything in it other than pick what drive boots first

You could just manually set it to 1866Mhz

 

Depending on what motherboard you have, it should be easy. My Gigabyte motherboard has an "advanced frequency settings" for CPU & memory frequencies, and I just press + on the multiplier.

266MHz won't make much of a difference.

A few seconds if that.

Once you go from 1600MHz to 2666MHz you'll see a difference.

Really depends if you'll see any improvement on anything depending on the CAS latency and clock speed. I overclocked mine from CL9 1600 to CL10 2133. Still a minor improvement.

its a 1866MHZ stick well 2 of them, i bought it because it was cheaper than the 1600MHz stick at the time

you have to change 3 parameters to have your memory run at its rated speed and timings.

 

memory divider - set for 1866

 

memory timings eg- 9-9-9-24 1T

 

memory voltage ( start withe the xmp recommended voltage and work your way up if its not stable) eg  1.55V-1.60V-1.65V-1.70V-1.75V stop at 1.75V

Well then do it in BIOS and then it is worth it also do not forget XMP!

might have to set it manually. what voltage is your ram rated at?

For AMD motherboards, I believe it's called AMP, rather than XMP.
