Well... installed Crimson on two pc... not having problems, you should cleaninstall (use DDU to clean every bit of old drivers) the newest crimson driver. About your steamlibrary crashing, I just don´t believe it... I bought Arma 2 CO (installed dayZ) and Dark souls 1 yesterday... no crashes, I was even getting some performance boosts in newer games like Witcher 3 and survarium.

And a word of advice... clean your pc.. do some malware scans, virus scans, get rid of junk files and use DDU for cleaninstaling your drivers...

P.S.: Nvidia is not better than AMD in the drivers department... I wanted to destroy my lenovo y50 because I had massive problems with those "perfect" NV drivers.

I'm just pissed at none of AMD's drivers supporting switchable graphics-this laptop has an Ati MR HD 4250 and HD5650, and I can only use the original HP supplied drivers from 2010, otherwise only the HD4250 is recognised.

Leshcat is the only reliable source for switchable AMD graphic but even that is a hit or miss.

Btw, shout out to those that bought AMD laptop with pre-GCN iGPU + GCN dGPU.

I have to say, the old MR HD5650 still manages to do things quite well despite its age. Though I do feel sorry for those (including myself) using them with AMD CPU-the Phenom II in this laptop (N970) holds it back a bit due to its low clock speed (only 2.2GHz), compared to the MR HD5650 in my Aunt's laptop (Pavilion DV6 3010AX>3030TX) which performs a lot better in all games due to its i5 540M (2.53GHz with 3GHz turbo, all mobile phenom need games optimized to run on all 2, 3 or 4 cores).

Also, thanks for letting me know about that website-the drivers have to be better than the ones that first came with this laptop in 2010, and were never updated by HP or AMD (and I can now update the display drivers in this DV6 3010AX and my Aunt's 3030TX).

What gpu is it?

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Something I have never understood about AMDs graphics card problems is why people with apparently similar hardware will have such vastly different experiences with the same drivers. I saw the same thing back with the 7970 where there was clearly a bunch of us having severe problems and some being all happy and light. Those same people were also denying there was any microstutter which categorically proved to be wrong but it seems unlikely they were genuinely lying about blue screens of death.

Its something I watch with intrigue but can never explain, the bugs often seem to be very specific and presumably its one of the reasons why AMD takes so long to fix them (like never) when you report them. Of all the bugs I reported not a single one was fixed in the time I had the cards, but its certainly a route to try yourself if you feel like stabbing yourself in the eyes with a pencil!

Could it be your PC? Nvidia drivers has problems to.

I had big problems with my gtx 780 TI for a long time, i reinstalled my whole pc and that fixed it, rigth now i am rocking a HD 7950 (my 780 ti broke) and i hav no problems.

Why is it every one thinks that Nvidia is better than AMD I dont get it, they both have driver problems and they both make great GPU's.

It could be your PSU, if the GPU doesn't get the rigth power then it could f*** something up.

If you have money to change out your card why didn't you get something better than a R9 270?

If only Nvidia owners threw this kind of fit every time they had driver issues, which according to the experience of me and others on this forum, is a metric fuck ton. Bruh, sell your cards and buy a 970. You'll be happier.

They do lol, in fact there are active topics right now about Nvidia driver issues. And the same type of selfish people respond that there's no way their beloved brand could have done anything wrong, it must be user error.
