dual channel on a motherboard thinking of having 4x4gb of the same ram CONFLICT?!

I have an Asus p8 z77 v lx NEED HELP PLZ REPLY!! I am using alot of ram for my research and I's using around 7.8 gb of ram if I buy another 2x4 sticks of the same ram would I be ok?

theres no issue theres just no point.

you won't have any speed advantage with 4 sticks over 2 since the motherboard is dual channel meaning it can only read/write to 2 sticks at a time.

I'd go with 2x8GB since it would leave you room to upgrade to 32GB later on if you needed to for some reason without having to throw out your ram.

hve a P8-Z77Pro and I am running 4x4Gb dims with no problems what so ever, however I would suggest getting 2x8Gb dims instead.
