critique my 1000$ gaming build

98bballstar

Pooh, I had some nice things written but hit back by mistake >.<

Its a good gaming build. You could save some money if you wanted to. I would go for a 7950 or 7970 with a 955BE on an AM3+ mobo. That would shave a few dollars off while still letting you play any game on max settings. The AM3+ mobo will let you upgrade to a Piledriver in the future (if games ever use 8 cores). You could also take a few dollars off with an mATX mobo and a smaller case.

Don't bother with and optical drive if your'e only going to use it once to install Windows, use a thumb drive.

The Gigabyte card you chose is great for overclocking, if you ever choose to.

Otherwise, that system will run every game max settings. Good build :D

The only thing that you don't really need in that list would be the CM 212 - the 3570 comes with a stock cooler so you won't need one as you aren't overclocking.

Maybe he want a silent pc, the 212 is very good and pretty silent.
