I think 12 or under would be a better age. After 12 you really start to mature quite quickly, at least I found myself maturing quite quickly.

I am 14 in a couple of months, and I have kinda realised this time last year how much less mature I was. What you said is true TBH.

Kids are already trying to be adults sooner than they need to be, now they have more reasons to think about lying about ages and such...

This is a little ridiculous. A ton of kids use the Internet for school research. It's a little inconvenient to have them ask for permission each time they have homework.

There is good intent behind this, but I don't see how it is enforceable.

 

I think it would be more beneficial to provide resources and education to parents so they can have a better understanding of what their children are up to online and how to talk to them important subjects such as cyber-security, cyber-bullying, and internet etiquette. Including these topics into a school curriculum for 12-16 year olds would be beneficial as well.

While I agree that some content is unsuitable on an age-group basis, I can see some logic behind this.

It still won't change anything because BillyNoScope360Pwner's mom will still buy him that PEGI 18 game (guess the franchise!) even though he's 14.
