Steam now lets you *permanently* delete games from your Steam account/library

Remember how awhile ago Steam allowed us to hide games in our library? That should have been good enough right? Wrong, because Steam now lets you permanently delete games from your library. Delete, as in, gone forever, never to be downloaded again, and you would more than likely have to rebuy the game. This seems a bit extreme, because IMO hiding games is enough, but I guess a few people want this feature...? Not sure why you would ever want to permanently remove a Steam game from your library though...

The process is fairly simpleish, but it's not as easy as hiding a game. You have to go to Steam Support, select the game, and then choose the option to permanently remove the game from your Steam account/library. The one caveat is that you cannot remove bundled items that were unlocked with a single key.

Excited? Confused? Are you actually going to remove a game from your Steam account/library?

Well everyone wants to add more and more games in their steam library, i don't think so anyone will delete game from their steam.

But

Plus point is, if someone has Region Locked game ( accidently activated ) in their steam account, he/she can delete that and buy region free one.

that is the biggest problem here. though that could be fixed with a 2-way authentication

the option to do so is good imo, but can be missused if someone else has their hands on the said persons account momentarily

Why would you ever want to literally throw money away

This is Apple-innovation tier stupidity.

You don't want Ride to Hell: Retribution to stay in your Steam account.

it's technically not money anymore because you can't get money for them once you buy them lol

There is a reason why Steam is forcing people to use the two way verification/authentication.

That's a scary thought.

Obviously they would be able to reverse it on the steam support side. There would be records of purchased and deleted games. What games you own are just values in a database.
